Following another very successful inaugural disabled hunt in 2009, Wisconsin River Power Company is hosting its third annual deer hunt for disabled hunters in early October.

Up to six permanently disabled hunters will be given the opportunity to hunt, with firearms, on the WRPCO-Petenwell Wildlife Area adjacent to the Petenwell Dam in central Wisconsin on Oct. 8, 9 and 10. The wildlife area is approximately 750 acres and has been set aside by WRPCO as a wildlife refuge. The majority of the area is closed to other hunting activities.
